Spotfiy has over 356 million subscribers. That’s 356 million people that each have their own unique preferences for artists, playlists, podcasts, and more. Part of Spotify’s commitment to our listeners is not only ensuring that they have access to everything they want to listen to, but that their listening experience is as personalized as possible.

To make good on our commitment to customization, Spotify constantly releases new features to keep our listeners happy. One of our most recent releases is Only You, an in-app experience that focuses on personalized playlists that are curated to celebrate you. This hub will exist alongside our Made for You feature that you see every time you go into the Search tab in your Spotify app. While our Made for You hub already offers a unique, customized listening experience with playlists like Release Radar, Discover Weekly, and Your Time Capsule, Only You goes beyond what you’re used to. Here’s what makes it different:

  • Your Audio Birth Chart: This playlist is an astrology reading of sorts. Your Sun sign is the artist you’ve listened to the most in the past six months. Your Moon sign is an artist you listen to that best showcases your emotional or vulnerable sign. And lastly, your Rising sign is an artist that you’ve recently discovered.
  • Your Dream Dinner Party: If you could hang out with any three of your favorite artists, who would they be? Let Spotify know, and we will curate a personalized mix for each artist to get your playlist ready for your next dinner party.
  • Your Artist Pairs: No matter what your favorite artists are, everyone likes to mix their music up. Are you a fan of the classics? Pop? Country? This playlist will showcase all of your favorite tunes and is perfect for the times when you can’t seem to choose just one artist to listen to.
  • Your Song Year: This playlist takes into account all of the genres you’ve listened to over the past year and shows you how you’ve traveled through time. The first year that you’ll hear is the one you’ve streamed the most, followed by the earliest year you’ve listened to, and then the year of the song you most recently listened to.
  • Your Time of Day: Whether you are a morning or night person, you can discover the music or podcasts you listen to at certain times.
  • Your Genres/Topics: This playlist is a combination of all the different music and podcast content you like that sets you apart.

Just like all of our features, the more you listen, the more personalized your playlists will become.

In addition to Only You, Spotify also launched Blend, which is a way for friends to merge their unique tastes into one long playlist that perfectly depicts their friendship. As long as your friend has a Spotify Free or Premium plan, you can invite them to blend with you. You can take a look at this article to find out how to do it.
